AWANA
Wednesdays 6:15-7:45pm

Thank you for your interest in the Princeville Presbyterian Church AWANA Program. We are pleased to have the opportunity to participate in your child’s Christian growth. Here are some details about the program:

What is AWANA?

The Word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not A
shamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15: Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. Uniforms, awards, pins and patches help motivate clubbers to memorize God’s Word. Our mission is to reach boys & girls with Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.

WHAT IS EXPECTED of the parents?

Parents are actively involved in helping the clubbers to adequately prepare for their weekly meeting both mentally and spiritually. This includes reminding them that they need to be on their best behavior while in the Lord’s house. Please insure that your child comes to the meeting on time, in uniform, with their Bible and handbook, and properly prepared for handbook time. This last item is extremely important. Each week, the clubber is expected to memorize certain Bible verses and should come to the meeting prepared to recite them. Children will earn a uniform and handbook once they have completed their entry booklet and you have initialed in the designated places. Since their awards are displayed on their uniform, clubbers should proudly wear them to every meeting.

HOW DO THE CLUBS WORK?

AWANA will meet every week during the school year. All meetings will be held on Wednesday evening starting promptly at 6:15 P.M. and ending at 7:45 P.M. The younger clubbers, Cubbies, should be brought to and picked up from their classroom to ensure their safety. Other children may be dropped off and picked up at the front entrance to the church. If school is cancelled due to bad weather, AWANA is cancelled as well.

At the end of the evening, Sparks & T&T’s will be given a small snack as they leave. Cubbies will have their snack in their room as a part of their meeting.
